Light-weight Media for the Reduction of Sediment and Turbidity
Filter-Ag© is a light-weight media used for the removal of suspended solids, sediment, and turbidity. It has highly fractured edges and irregular surfaces that provide a high surface area and complex flow path for the removal of particulates. Filtration down to the 20-40 micron range can generally be expected. Filter-Ag's© larger granule size results in less pressure loss and allows deep particle penetration into the bed for greater sediment loading and longer filter cycles.
The light weight of Filter-Ag© permits lower backwash flow rates and efficient bed expansion to release trapped sediment during backwash.
Filter-Ag© is commonly used in both pressure and gravity systems. It is also oftenused as a layer in multi-media filter designs.
- Low pressure loss
- Relatively low backwash flow rates
- Light weight
- ANSI/NSF 61 validated
