Calgon© Centaur catalytic granular activated carbon (GAC) is derived from bitumous coal using a patented process. It is manufactured to exhibit catalytic functionality for enhanced removal of chlormaines, hydrogen sulfide (H2S), and a wide range of organic contaminants. It is also often used for peroxide destruction.
Calgon© Centaur 12x40 complies ANSI/AWWA B604 (2005) and with the requirements for activated carbon as defined by the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC) (8th Edition) published by the U.S. Pharmacopeia.
