Calgon OLC 12x40 Mesh Activated Carbon
Calgon©'s OLC 12x40 is a coconut shell derived granular activated carbon (GAC) that is commonly used for the removal of chlorine residuals as well as the reduction of dissolved organic contaminants. These contaminants include taste and odor compounds, industrial chemicals, and many volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The pore structure enables it to be used for adsorption of both high and low molecule weight impurities. The carbon is especially effective for adsorbing trace organic compounds such as vinyl chloride, methylene chloride, MTBE and THM's/disinfection by-products.
Calgon© OLC 12 x 40 is tested and certified to NSF/ANSI standard 61. It also complies with the requirements for activated carbon as outlined by the Food Chemicals Codex (FCC) (8th Edition) published by the U.S. Pharmacopeia.
- Coconut shell derived carbon
- Low ash (< 4% by weight)
- NSF/ANSI 61 validated
